I got back from Canyon lands just a few days ago and I’m taking a bit of time to send you a note about our trip.
As I was telling you, I thought it would be a good idea to have the boxes because we didn’t know if it would rain on the trip. While we were on the white rim Road, which follows the canyon in the islands of the sky District of Canyon lands for about 90 miles, it rained quite a bit. And there was mud. My mud tires slung a lot of mud up and got on some of the gear on the roof. I was really happy to have the boxes. It kept things what was inside of them dry. One of our tents went down in the middle of the night while it was raining and a lot of the gear, including the sleeping bags got wet. We were able to air them out on our drive that day and they were ready to go for camp that night. We were really happy to have the roof boxes. It kept the things inside dry and kept them from getting muddy. It was such a nice trip. Our family really enjoyed it. The clouds and rain give us some really nice pictures. I will send you a few.
The elephant Hill Trail was also a lot of fun, it did not rain while we were on this trail. The boxes were low enough to the roof we had no problem clearing the section where you have to drive under a rock.
I might have liked a bit more internal volume within the box although it is sized a bit larger capacity compared to your competitor’s box. The box has little areas where the sides come in and go back out. It seems to be sacrificing internal capacity and volume for structural integrity.
What I liked:
1) protection from rain and mud
2) good structural integrity and would hold my weight when I was securing the gear.
3)Size was adequate.
4) hydraulic assist made opening the cases easy and could rummage through things without having to worry about them folding shut on hands if a breeze came by.
What could be improved? Not sure, increased capacity? Maybe finding way to keep it attached to rack in optimal spot? I saw there might besome brackets available to perhaps help with this.
I wanted to thank you for making such such a nice product at an affordable price.
@openroad_4wd Overlanding vehicle. We installed our cases this week and will be at the new to USA @landscape_durable_tires Grand Opening Saturday 8.29.2026 TO DISPLAY THIS FJ.
So I purchase the dry totes for more cab space. And boy did it do the trick. The open road quick mounts make it so easy to secure and remove the totes. And they hold firm. We have ran the totes and mounts through low lying branches on the back roads. And they held up to a rugged stress test. Very pleased with the addition!
Just got it mounted so far i really like the quality. Time will tell one of the struts had no pressure in it or it would have been 5 star as long as I get a new strut I would love to give a 5 star I understand some things just happen so hopefully they can send a new strut out to me without sending the whole box back
The OPENROAD Camping Storage Case – 102L is durable, lightweight, and high quality. The seal appears to be tight and secure. I can’t wait to use this during my overland trip.
Fine box for the price.
-Plastic seems a little soft and easily deforms in the direct sunlight.
-A bit disappointed because the website said that a molle panel was included, but it did not come with one.
-It fits well on my Prinsu roof rack
-I have not tested the waterproof seal on the front of the box while driving in the rain yet
Although it ended up being on backorder, which I was unaware of and had to reach out over a week later to find out why I hadn't gotten a shipping notification, it was worth the extra month wait! Very high quality, and exactly what I was looking for making a custom hunting case.
Unfortunately, the webpage makes it seem like the Molle panel is included, regardless of whether you order the mounting kit or not (included in product Features, and listed under included hardware), it is a separate purchase, which in my opinion isn't worth the asking price compared to similar products from other brands that include it for around the same price point. Was originally planning to order a second one, but considering it's an extra $80 for the Molle kit I will probably look elsewhere. All in all a good product though, and will probably recommend.
I love the box you can tell it’s high-quality. I ordered the molle panel and I’m currently working on attaching my equipment. So I’ve really haven’t had a chance to take it out yet, but I can tell it will last a long time.
I highly recommend this storage case; it's perfect for organizing everything, quite spacious, made of super durable material, not heavy, and I really like it.
designed. The only downside—and what would make it even better—would be having some kind of mounting or anchoring system to secure it to roof racks. Otherwise, it’s super great and very practical.
Incredible quality, durability, and functionality! These storage cases are more affordable than the competition. They have gas struts that will hold the lid up while you grab/ load gear. Very easy to strap down and secure to the truck bed, truck rack, or roof rack. Just a solid piece of gear especially if you need your stuff protected from dust, water and the abuse we put our stuff through.
These boxes are a perfect balance of a high quality storage solution without paying a ridiculous amount for a storage box. Very well built tough product.
Solid Camping Box! Better quality then the top competition. I like the thickness of the latches and the oversized seal to keep the food smell in. Many uses, kids use it as a chair at camp, wife and I use it as a step to get on the tailgate of the jeep gladiator.
Got this box and love it! Perfect size for most SUVs. Quality that matches other boxes that cost twice as much. Drain plug for easy cleaning and lockable latches. Weatherproof to keep your items dry too!
I ordered the 102L case with mounting brackets and molle panel. It's exactly what you want if you need to get stuff out of the cabin of your off-roader to make room for family and pets, while still protecting it. Easy to setup/install.
