Rack seems sturdy and well made. The finish is clean and all hardware seems to be good quality. The only complaint I have is that the side bars do not extend out to the 55.9” as the specifications claim.
Its a quality build and pretty easy to install. I installed over a tonneau cover with the T-slot system - no issues at all. I used it during a recent move to transport ladders and such and its rock solid with good places to attach tie downs.
Yosemite, Mono Lake, Mammoth, Mount Whitney, Red Rock Canyon …. Disneyland. 1,600 miles - from off road to 80 on the freeway that rack and set up was awesome.
The truck bed rack itself seems well made, but the overall buying experience left a lot to be desired.
Shipping took much longer than expected. When the package finally arrived, the box was damaged with parts sticking out of it, and several components had minor scratches from the poor packaging.
I had also purchased the optional shipping protection, so I contacted customer service about the condition of the shipment. Unfortunately, responses were slow and not very helpful, which made the experience even more frustrating.
If the company improved its packaging and customer service, I would have had a much better impression. The product appears solid, but the shipping and support did not meet my expectations.
Send me the c-clamps! I am still waiting for the c-clamps. It was clearly an opened box and it was in horrible condition. Everything looks fine but I need the c-clamps for installation. It’s been three weeks since the box arrived and I have been constantly emailing “Lulu” in Customer Service (ha). I just want to talk to somebody and confirm you will send the remaining parts to install. I have notified my credit card company.
There are other units on the market that cost significantly more for the same design and purpose this rack offers. I have a 2024 Silverado EV which adds a level of difficulty to mount anything to the bed rails. The rack w/o bed tracks option didn’t work for my application. The clamps don’t have enough depth due to the cinching bolt making contact with the lip of the bed rail, this causes the base plates to twist up at an angle and won’t lie flat. The back of the Silverado bed also has metal wall plate that extend ls about 8” inward from the rear corner. To make this work, I had to drill through the bed rail caps and drop carriage bolts through for a permanent fit. The rear most hole doesn’t have access behind that corner wall plate so I used a rivnut and reused one of the M8 bolts from the kit. This mount is solid and sturdy but the black finish on all the parts is very thin and comes off with the slightest rub or nick.
Great rack with awesome features, like the tie down hooks on the inside of the rack and on the ends of the cross bars. Quality could be a little bit better, but you get what you pay for. Some of the parts had some power coating rubbed off, and the hardware for the bed rail clamps isn’t the best (when you thread the bolt into the other end, it’s hard not to cross thread it and wallow the hole out, as the threads on the receiving end are power coated).
Instructions could be a lot better (very tough to understand and follow. I would recommend watching a YouTube video on it, as there are several). Overall, a solid rack for a good price. I haven’t taken my truck on a camping trip with it yet, but I’ve put plenty of miles around town on it
I like the rack overall and how it connects to the rolling cover. I did have an issue with the aluminum screws stripping out, I highly advise using a rachet wrench to adjust vs a power tool to prevent stripping the head.
The only area of Concern this far has been product support I had stripped out 2 of the screws while adjusting the product (my fault entirely for using a power tool or not replacing the factory provided bolts with Steel replacements. I am still waiting on a response for a replacement main body support that I am willing to pay for but have gotten almost zero response from customer service.
The Customer service team responded 1 time with an apologetic email about the delay, asked for pictures, then another few weeks of complete silence despite multiple attempts to reach them.
The product is good, the Bolts I recommend replacing, but the customer service is where this product fails in my opinion.
The rack delivered in a timely manor. It installed quite easily with very few modifications. The only thing i dislike is that there is a high frequency whistle coming from the rack somewhere.
This rack is pretty nice. I love that it’s adjustable to fit your bed. I would say though, the crossbar on top doesn’t fit well in the vertical bars when bolting down. I had to really work hard to get it to fit right, and even then, it’s not perfect.
Like it a lot at the of the 45degree supports it was not painted it would be great you could send out black paint to paint the areas which were not painted correctly!
Thank you
Frank Early
The rack is made from quality products and should last a long time.
The instructions could be a little better but,
It was mostly self explanatory.
I have a sinetics tonneau with t slots and I had to cut a little bit of the outside corners to fit.
It was close enough to be universal for someone who has some skills and tools but, maybe someone without experience might have a problem. Overall I'm very happy with my rack.
So this picture shows both the tonneau cover and bed rack.
This review is for the rack. It was a straight forward install. No real issues, but the instructions are lacking. Now attention to what parts are used in each step of the install would do installers a huge favor.
I'll be mounting a 270°plus awning soon and I'll update the review thereafter.
Finally, there is a significant whistle now when driving at higher speeds.
Maybe a slipover cover for the cross bar o-ring tie of points would help although I have not yet determined exactly where the whistle is coming from.
Very sturdy bed rack! Can tell this will last a long time and I love that it's universal and will be able to fit my future trucks. One thing to note is that the instructions are BAD. Like very bad. Youtube will be your best friend with this endeavor. Putting this together took me quite a while just FYI. But overall, once it is put together, it couldn't be more solid!
The construction of the rack itself is absolutely fantastic. Feels like it will last a lifetime. The powder coat is thick. The instructions are not super clear. As far as the hardware, but they are bag separately for each component. So it's not the end of the world. My only issue was, I bought the version that is supposed to clamp onto the bed itself. I have a 2025 Ford Ranger and those clamps are nowhere near deep enough. I tried buying longer stainless steel screws to attach the rack to the clamp. But when doing that, it would actually pull the rack blocks in towards the bed. Ultimately, I did have to drill into the truck where the locations of the clamps would be. Then, I slid apart the clamp and used the threaded end on the inside of the bed lip. So this thing is not going anywhere. You can see in the photo where the bedlip ends Vs where the screw actually went into the truck. But using the clamp itself, instead of a separate nut and lock washer worked very well because being square in shape, I didn't have to reach up there with a separate tool to tighten it down.
Ok let’s start with tonneau cover and bed rack that I installed on my Ford Lightning
Quality is absolutely amazing, heavy duty and very sturdy. Very easy to install and it took me approximately 2 hours to install the cover
Bed rack is same thing as far as the quality and installation. Both look amazing 🔥 and how about the price 😳 very affordable and much cheaper then competitors. Overall I am very happy with all Openroad products an currently awaiting for rooftop tent, awning with walls and shower
Will definitely review it and definitely recommending the products
I absolutely love it! With that being said I wasn’t able to mount it the way it was supposed to be I had to Bolt it to the bed and shorten the length of the poles front to back but otherwise it was Exactly what I hoped for. These beds are the smallest of any truck I’m familiar with so I kinda expected to run into this. Still rate it AAA+
The adjustable bed rack is an incredible value. It's a great way to start your overland build journey, and it's flexible enough to grow with you as your needs increase. I highly recommend.
Awesome system. Only thing i don't like is no instructions to set up rack. With a simple pictures I got it built in about an hour or so. Tent went on easy and will be giving it a full test this years hunt. Also went off roadi g and worked it out. No bolts came loose and tent stayed where I wanted. Overall great buy.
Took me longer than expected to get install. Tonneau cover .......I have a Rock•N•Lock. They now offer an upgraded. MaxTrak for t-bolts. Changed out my tracks. My bed rack is installed and it's solid. Looks great. I'm very happy with my purchase. Looking forward to getting my tent and finishing my set up..
Very sturdy. Took my time and went slow:
Not hard to assemble at all.
Put all the parts loosely together and place on bed rails, secure to bed with provided clamps, then work your way around and tighten everything up/
The rack is dirty easy to put together and very strong. I just wish there was more components to put on the side of the rack so I can attach camping stuff to it.
Instructions were horrible! What is "haicht"? A lot of trial and error during installation process. After several hours, it was time to just get it close enough, and tighten everything down. As it turns out, as the tightening process went, everything was tightening under stress, which gives it great strength.
Took my rig through the Wyoming BDR, with a RTT, and it worked great!
