The Extension Part
THE MOST VALUE
1. Dynamic Load: It must be higher than the weight of the product plus the mounting brackets. We recommend that the bracket's load-bearing capacity exceeds 1.2 times the weight of the product plus the mounting brackets.
2. For customers wanting to install side awnings: If your roof rack or crossbars do not have T-slots, the width of your roof rack must be less than the internal distance between the outer holes of the mounting plate (you need to measure this). Alternatively, you can drill one or two holes in the crossbar for screw installation.
3. Height Consideration: Please note the vehicle height; both the tent ladder and side awning legs are under 90 inches. If the roof rack is too high, there may be a risk of leg failure.
The Following Are Several Common Roof Rack Solutions For Reference
When the sidewalls are properly secured with stakes and guy ropes, they can handle winds of about 19-24 mph. For the awning itself, it’s freestanding up to 10 mph and can handle up to 25 mph with support legs and guy ropes.
That said, we always recommend finding a safe spot to set up in very windy conditions—while it’s built tough, safety always comes first in extreme weather. Let us know if you have more questions, we’re happy to help!
One of the biggest advantages of the OPENROAD 270 degree awning is the increased coverage compared to a 180 degree awning. With the 270 degree design, you'll enjoy a larger shaded area, perfect for two or more people, making it ideal for group or family outings. It extends along the side and rear of your vehicle, whereas the 180-degree awning only covers one side. Additionally, the 270 degree awning can be fitted with optional side walls, giving you extra privacy and protection. Plus, it's incredibly easy to set up—you can have it ready in just one minute!
Is it worth it? Absolutely. A retractable awning, especially a freestanding one, offers excellent flexibility and convenience. The OPENROAD 270 degree awning lets you quickly deploy or retract the canopy as needed, shielding you from sun, rain, or snow. Its versatility and ease of use make it a must-have investment for outdoor enthusiasts.
We provide detailed installation instructions, and our expert team is always available to assist if you encounter any issues during setup. The OPENROAD 270 degree awning comes with a complete installation toolkit. Before setting up, you'll need to install roof mounts to provide a secure base for the awning.
Our installation package includes three brackets, even though you only need two—one is provided as a spare. To ensure proper setup, make sure you have the roof mounts installed beforehand, giving your 270 degree awning the support it needs.
