We finally got the Openroad4wd roof cap, 270 awning and roof top tent installed. The things that could have gone better. This was a bundle package offered for Black Friday. It did not include the crossbars so we could not mount anything to the bed cap without them. I emailed openroad and they let me know the crossbars were not included in the package. But they did offer to send us a set at no cost but they were out of stock until the end of November. I was a little irritated that I bought a bundle pack that didn’t come with a key piece to put it together. The bed cap does not come with anyway to mount it to the truck. That was an easy fix a pack of 6 clamps from Amazon for $20. Finally got the crossbars in this week and they did not come with the hardware to mount them to the cap. We were able to secure them after a trip to ace hardware and $70 in bolts. The holes on the brackets for the awning do not match the holes on the crossbars so we had to get creative. I thought by getting everything from the same manufacturer it would be designed to go together. Overall we are very happy with the quality of the products. The awning is very easy to set up. Without the sidewalls it takes less than a minute. Same thing with the tent. I’m not sure how they made a mattress that thin that is this comfortable. I’ve seen people say that you cannot get in touch with openroad if you have issues. That was not the case for us. They are very responsive to emails. I will share how everything goes after we go camping in Big Bend next week.
