Inside Our Texas Off-Road Meetup: Adventure, Community & Epic Giveaways

When the Overland Tribe Rolls In
Cold mornings don't stop the faithful. Rigs rolled in from across the state — rooftop tents deployed, awnings stretched wide, camp chairs planted in the frost. Along the banks of the river, the OPENROAD community set up one of the best grass-roots meetups Texas has seen.
"No itinerary. No agenda. Just overlanders, open sky, and the kind of conversations you only have around a tailgate."
Here's how it went down 👇

01 — SETTING UP CAMP

Rigs, Chairs, and Good Company
By early morning the field was already buzzing. Trucks nosed up to the riverbank, coolers cracked open, and people started gravitating toward each other the way overlanders always do — like they've known each other for years, even when they haven't.

Ground tents, rooftop tents, Jeep awnings — every rig told its own story. The variety of setups was half the show.

02 — THE COMMUNITY
Dogs, Kids, and Everyone Welcome
What makes an OPENROAD meetup different from a gear show? The people — and their four-legged co-pilots. This event was as much a family reunion as it was an overland gathering.

From Brittany spaniels on leashes to French Bulldogs in strawberry fit — the camp was fully dog-friendly, and the energy showed it.

03 — THE RAFFLE
Big Prizes.
Bigger Smiles.
The OPENROAD raffle was the crowd-pleasing climax of the day. Boxes stacked up beside the rig, ticket stubs dropped in, and winners walked away with real gear they'll actually use on the trail.

Must be present to win — and almost everyone was.
 ▸ 180° Awning
 ▸ Quick-Open Shower Awning
 ▸ Camping Storage Case – 50L
 ▸ Camping Chair
 ▸ Portable Fridge

04 — SEE YOU ON THE TRAIL
This Is Why We Show Up
At the end of the day, the numbers don't matter as much as the moments. A handshake with someone you just met. A dog making friends with strangers. A winner hoisting a box over their head with a grin that says everything.
Texas, you showed up big. We'll see you on the next one.
