Used the winch to load and maneuver the crossties into position. Built a bridge over a washout/wet weather creek on our property. It's mounted on a Massimo side by side, it didn't miss a beat. I have the 12000 lb pull on my tacoma.
Powerful! Added to my UTV. Thinking about getting a second one for my crane in my shop just to have it. Really smooth winch.
The winch works great. There was a minor issue with the remote. The website originally stated, it came with two remotes, but my order only came with one. OpenRoad sent me a new controller, with 2 remotes, free or charge, and no hassle. Great customer service.
Advertised as having 2 remotes only has one. Power cable lengths made placement of the relay in not a real good spot on my 2024 Cam Am X3 DS turbo (between the gas tank and heater tubes). Has the small bolt pattern (I did not buy the mounting plate due to the bumper premount bracket), so it didn't fit the bumper predrilled holes (smaller and site has no pictures of the mounting dimensions), had to drill my own. Will have to buy a dash rocker switch as this switch doesn't fit in UTV dashes (looks made more for ATV handle bars). It does work with both the manual and remote switches. Time will tell if it will last.
Put the 4500lbs winch on my 2024 Can M Maverick R and went to Baja Calif. It worked out fantastic to recover a friend’s side by side that had rolled while pre running the Baja 1000 course. Best upgrade yet to my new ride. Will definitely recommend to everyone. Could not download picture.
Works great … the winch mount wouldn’t work had to drill differnt holes … other than that and only came with one remote but they sent me 2 new ones with in a few days … easy to install and nice people to deal with
After having to order the plate seperatly. And then it didnt fit quite right without a little modification. Its finally mounted and working and looks good
Fits just right easy to install.only thing that when not in use it seems to disengage out a little bit and the power being off
Almost a direct replacement for my old wrench. The cables connect on the right side instead of the left side. But I had enough cables to reach the other side. (Barely) No fault of the company, most of the wrenches are built that way. Work great.
Very nice winch. Works good. However, i had to re-pair the remote twice so far. Had a very hard time to make if fit in the Amazon $60 Sportsman 850 mount (had to reshape the mount). For 160$CAN, I guess I can't complain. Thank you Openroad4wd.
I absolutely love my new OpenRoad 4500 lb ATV winch! I have several OpenRoad winches on my other vehicles, so I did t hesitate to get one for my UTV!

l have a Can Am x3 with a Geiser bulkhead and bumper that l did not want to replace, if l knew how much modifying l would have to do l would not have purchased, but after completed it all turned out great!
A great wench for a great price. Shipping was fast and when I had a question customer service was quick to respond. It was such a good deal I bought a second one for my trailer.

Installation was easy and the wireless remotes work great. The only problem I see is the mounting options for the control box.
Was not clearly marked as ATV only. All wiring was too short to be used. To wire it I will need to buy power and winch wiring that is at least 7’ for the winch side and more for the battery side. Maybe 10’ just to be safe. This may have been all my fault but I am now spending enough that I could have bought a better winch that was already ready to go with the proper lengths of cable.

Seems solid. Install on my Can Am Outlander 650 DPS was mostly a breeze. The winch was a little bit to large to properly slide into the space where winches are supposed to be installed on the Outlander. I had to use an angle grinder to remove some small bits of framing which was in the way. Other than that, easy. The wireless remote works well.
Two major issues. First of all, you should never install a device without a fusible link. If something shorts out, it will burn down my vehicle. I had to go hunt down and purchase a fusible link to protect my machine. I could not find any paperwork stating what the voltage or amperage is on this device to know what size fusible link I need to install not even on your website .Second issue is that the cables are all too short. If you run them from the battery, they are too short to meet the control box. I also had to purchase longer battery cables in order to make this thing function. I try to run the cables, the opposite direction to hide the controller under the seat and they were too short coming from the winch itself. I assure you I am well-versed in wiring vehicles due to an extensive background in vehicle audio video. The red and black cables need to be about 2 feet longer than what they are and add a Fuse this would solve your issue. Other than that, it seems like a very nice machine.
I love the reviews and videos I’ve seen of the winch. I received it very quickly after ordering it. I got it in the shop still in the box. Haven’t had time to install it, but I’m positive I’m going to love it! More info to come when I get time to install and play with it.
I have not installed the 4500 pound winch yet only because the machine I’m working on is not ready to receive the winch

I have not yet installed it since it didnt come with the mounting plate. I had to go back and order that seperately. I wish they would make it better known that the plate has to be added also. Now I am waiting for that to get here and I was looking forward to installing this today. Do better openroad !!!
Easy to hook up and mount, do not use the guide that comes with the winch it cut the cord the first time I had to use it. I was without the winch after that. It’s a poor design and has sharp edges I didn’t see before installing.
Not sure why there wasn't a proper rope guide or fairlead or grade 8 bolts to hold the winch for utv applications....
Good winch for the cost but the mounting brackets did not fit my 2017 Polaris Ranger. I ordered the mounting off Amazon a long with the fairlead and synthetic rope stopper
Very nice winch for my Talon. Like the idea of having a wireless remote control. And for this winch they provide two remote plus a wired dash control that I have opted not to install at this time. Nicholas, the salesman, straigtened out a shipping problem that I caused and am very greateful.
It fit perfect with no installation issues.
