What Happens When 103 Overlanders Show Up to a Spring Meet & Greet

The full crew — LAGALAG Spring Meet & Greet 2026, Washington State.

On March 21st, the Lagalag Overlanders community gathered at a lakeside campsite deep in the Washington Cascades for their Spring Meet & Greet. The RSVP count said 68. The actual headcount? 103.

It was supposed to be a casual meet. Instead, it turned into one of the biggest community events in Lagalag history — and we were proud to be a part of it.

Rigs lined the lakeshore. Rooftop tents, overland builds, and a whole lot of good energy.

The coordinates pointed to a spot where the mountains drop straight into the water, the air smells like pine and thawing earth, and the only signal you need is a campfire smoke column. By midday, the campsite was buzzing — new faces mixing with longtime members, kids running between rigs, dogs making friends faster than their owners.

People were ordering gear on the spot. The energy was chaotic in the best possible way.

One of the highlights of the day was the raffle draw. With 76 entries and a stacked lineup of OPENROAD gear as prizes — storage cases, a Quick Release Shower Awning, a 180° Awning, a Domestic Instant Gas Water Heater — the reactions were absolutely priceless.

All smiles — raffle winners with their OPENROAD prizes.

Winners walked up grinning, laughing, some in genuine disbelief. One attendee clutched both her prize and her Pomeranian. Another had to be nudged forward by friends. No scripts, no staged moments — just real people being stoked.

From storage cases to water heaters — every prize found a happy home.

But the raffle was just one part of the day. What made it special was everything in between — the conversations around camp chairs, the rig walkarounds, the shared meals, the trail stories swapped between strangers who, by the end of the day, weren't strangers anymore.

The best part of any meet isn't the gear — it's the people.

41 people stayed the night. They set up camp along the water, fired up stoves, and talked until the stars came out. Waking up in the mountains together — that's the kind of experience that turns a community event into a core memory.

Over 100 photos and videos were shared organically by attendees across social media — 8 posts and 7 reels, all captured in the moment. The content speaks for itself because the experience did too.

Camping can be a very personal and intimate experience — and that's part of what makes it special. This event reminded us of something just as important: the power of community.

OPENROAD on the ground — banner flying, products on display, community in full swing.

A huge thank you to the Lagalag Overlanders community and organizers for making this happen — and for letting OPENROAD be part of the day. Seeing our gear in the hands of real overlanders, at a real campsite, surrounded by real community? That's what it's all about.

Let's keep building events that are welcoming, inclusive, and open — where no one feels like an outsider, and everyone has a place around the campfire.

See you on the next one. 🤝🔥
