OPENROAD June Campout Recap: From Lake Kachess to Texas, Connecting with the Overlanding Community
OPENROAD recently wrapped up two June campout events: OPENROAD × Lagalag Overlanders Campout and OPENROAD TX Campout. Though the two gatherings took place in different locations and carried different local energy, both were built around the same idea: bringing outdoor gear into real camp settings and connecting with the overlanding community face to face.
OPENROAD × Lagalag Overlanders Campout: Meeting the Community at Lake Kachess
From June 12 to 14, OPENROAD joined the Lagalag Overlanders community at Lake Kachess, Washington for the OPENROAD × Lagalag Overlanders Campout. The weekend brought together overlanding rigs, camp setups, product demos, recovery education, raffles, games, and lakeside social time.
At the event, OPENROAD hosted product showcases and demos so attendees could see how the gear performs in a real outdoor environment. Compared with online photos and specifications, the in-person experience gave people a more direct understanding of how the gear fits into a vehicle setup, supports a campsite, and can be used during actual trips.

For OPENROAD, this campout was not only about bringing products to the field. It was about stepping into the real outdoor lives of our users, hearing their stories, listening to their feedback, and seeing how dependable outdoor gear is discussed, tested, and expected in the wild.
OPENROAD TX Campout: A Riverside Weekend with the Texas Overlanding Community
OPENROAD TX Campout at Sandlins Camp on the Brazos in Nemo, Texas.
From June 19 to 21, OPENROAD TX Campout took place at Sandlins Camp on the Brazos in Nemo, Texas. Hosted with support from dirtwolf6 / Brian McGill and NTXoverland, the weekend centered on rig meetups, camp setups, community hangouts, OPENROAD gear giveaways, Bingo Challenge, and raffle drawings.
Compared with the Lake Kachess gathering, TX Campout carried a stronger local Texas community feel. Attendees brought their own vehicles and camping gear to the riverside camp, built their setups under the trees, met new friends, and shared real-world overlanding and camping experience in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Saturday was the main activity day, featuring the Bingo Challenge, raffle drawings, OPENROAD setup, Meet the Rigs, and Campfire Story Moment. Around the campsite, people exchanged ideas about vehicles, gear, routes, and outdoor travel, making the weekend a true community-first gathering.

Through this event, OPENROAD had the opportunity to connect more closely with Texas-based overlanders and local outdoor enthusiasts. From product conversations to campfire stories, the weekend created a more direct and genuine connection between the brand and the people who use gear in real conditions.

Two Campouts, One Shared Connection
These two Campout events reminded us again of the energy and strength of the overlanding community. Whether by the lake at Lake Kachess or along the Brazos River in Texas, people came together through a shared love of outdoor travel and left with stronger connections.
Thank you to Lagalag Overlanders, dirtwolf6 / Brian McGill, NTXoverland, and everyone who joined, shared, and supported OPENROAD during these events. Your energy, feedback, and stories continue to drive us forward as we show up in more real outdoor settings and connect with more drivers, campers, and overlanding enthusiasts in person. We look forward to seeing you again at the next campout, on the next route, and around the next campsite.
