It is a daunting install process if you are not prepared. You will need tools for drilling through solid aluminum. There were no provided instructions and the online "installation guide" is a guy who pieces the thing together in 21 seconds with zero explanation as to what goes where. So to install this box first assemble the box with whatever shelving combination you are going to use. It is pretty easy to figure out. Then measure out the 3 bottom holes where the box will fit in the window. Drill out those 3 holes. Re align the box and install the 3 bolts. Now that the box is held firmly in place use a paint pen to mark the remaining mounting holes on the sides and top of the topper window. Remove the box and then drill out those holes. You cannot use the shelf box components unassembled because they may end up being a few millimeters off when you assemble the box. Measure the pilot holes from the assembled box. Also it is recommended to lock-tite EVERY nut and bolt. They will loosen almost immediately if you don't. Other than those issues once it is in it is a rock solid ad on for the open road toppers. I really enjoy mine. If you are not confident in Drilling metal do yourself a favor and have someone install it for you. This will permanently alter your topper so be advised.

Ok I initially was very frustrated that this item showed up literally with zero instructions on how to put it together and install. The installation video is not helpful at all. That video has zero step by step instructions. It isn't terribly difficult to put the box together but its a nightmare to install without the proper equipment. Keep in mind YOU the buyer will have to drill 9 holes in the topper to mount this and if you do not have the correct equipment or are not comfortable drilling through aluminum then outsource this project. Now the easiest way to do this is to assemble the box. Remove the trim from the topper window. Measure the 3 holes from the assembled box on the bottom edge of the topper. You'll see how it fits and where to measure. There will be 3 holes. Once measured drill those 3 holes out and then mount the box. Use a paint pen to then mark the other holes for drilling. Remove the box and then drill out the remaining 6 holes. DO NOT use the individual unassembled box pieces as a template as they will not properly align to the topper, you'll be a few millimeters off. Once all 9 holes are drilled mount the box from the bottom but do not over tighten until all the bolts are installed. Once all the bolts are installed tighten as necessary.

Unfortunately it did have some shipping damage, most of it corrected itself when tightening the fasteners. However for the pieces that didnt get corrected I will have to seal it another way. I will say it is sturdy, the wing doors are very nice.

Truck cap and storage bin and roof cross bars are great love the quality of these products. My only concern is, I did not receive a light that should’ve came with my truck cap.. I was told that you guys would have one shipped out to me that would be great. I am gonna do my review on my YouTube channel. Squatching the PNW. Ordered both sides. Passenger side showed up first , box was beat up, no parts, but it was fine. Driver side showed up a week later, again, box was beat up, had the parts, but was also dented on the corners, was able to fix it. Kind of wish they went a little higer and lower to fit larger things.

I just want to start off by saying that I love your products, however, the top cross bars that were supposed to be included weren’t, and there were no instructions for the truck cap side storage that I ordered, along with the truck cap not being predrilled for the storage box which it should have been since they were ordered together. I’ve made do with installation, but would like to receive the two top cross bars that should have been included

The product design is great but the quality control and manufacturing is crap. There are no less than 4 different people who walked on my finish painted sheet metal with dirty ass shoes leaving footprints that I will have to scrub off. The shell itself also had some clearly bad workmanship from the metal press that screwed up corners of the side of the shell. Looks like they were lazy when removing from the press and bent it up. I was able to bend it close enough to normal and slather on enough sealant for a good seal, but this is clearly poor work at the metal press. If you watch any of the YouTube install videos (all of which are paid for shills) you can also see the bent corners in their videos. They skip over that part of the install on every video but if you look closely you can see it. Instructions were straight garbage too. They really have a well designed product but cheaped out on the part that makes it not a shitty experience to actually install and feel like a quality product. I still really like it but expect some needless headaches putting it together.

Great box , but the factory picture is incorrect. Note that this box needs to bolted to your cap. So you will need to drill holes in your cap to mount it. It is somewhat difficult to do because the box flange sit on the inside and drilling for the outside is the easiest. Take your time to get it right. Do not rush this!

Never got my whole order. Only 1 person works in customer service. No one answers phone calls. Lulu was great at trying to help but your company failed her. Overall, truck cap is good. Shipping is a failure…don’t expect to receive everything…even when you pay extra for shipping protection.

The side openings are not pre-drilled for the optional storage boxes. And the led light bar comes with zip ties to mount it but there aren’t any holes in the roof to run them through, so still trying to figure that out. The cap itself seems solid, and lines up pretty well. Could maybe be packaged a little better as both sides of our cap arrived with big scratches in them, and two bent panels.

I ordered the Truck cap back in early December and it took a month to get delivered, I actually chose to pick it up at the local 3rd party delivery transfer location instead of waiting an additional week. Once unpacked I found the interior light to be missing (it is now mid February 2026 still no light, can't finalize wiring). Ships in 1 business day is not accurate, it seems to come directly from China. I've had to send multiple shipping inquiries/reminders. No complaints on quality, bolted and fit up perfectly. With the delivery issues I've had, I'm hesitent to order anything else in the future.

It's hard to put something together with only half the hardware. The shelf looks great and I think the shelf will be good. During shipping, the plastic bag holding the hardware ripped, the box got damaged, and half the hardware fell out of the box. I'm still waiting on replacement hardware to finish the install.
