What roof rack do I need for the EdgeRoof rooftop tent?

The tent is designed to install on two crossbars that are at least 30 inches apart. A suitable platform rack can also be used. Some factory crossbars may sit too close to the roof, so aftermarket crossbars may be required for proper hardware clearance.

How many people are recommended for installation?

OPENROAD recommends using 4–6 people to lift and place the rooftop tent onto the roof rack system. Always confirm your vehicle and rack load capacity before installation.

What accessories are included in the box?

The EdgeRoof package includes support poles and bag, aluminum ladder and ladder bag, shoe bag, 40-inch USB LED light strip, two side storage pockets, one ceiling storage bag, inner and outer elastic cords, mounting plate kits, and one wrench.

Why does EdgeRoof weigh 167 lb?

Dual-layer aluminum shell with 1-inch insulation, honeycomb-insulated aluminum floor, 304 stainless steel hardware, and a 7X static load safety factor. Lighter shells cut insulation and hardware grade. We didn't.

How does the tent open and set up?

Once the latches are unlocked, push open the top shell and the struts will assist the setup. After the shell is fully open, insert the elastic into the accessory channels, climb the ladder, unzip the screens and tent doors, and you are ready to camp.

How do I reduce condensation inside the tent?

Slightly open the windows to encourage airflow, avoid bringing wet clothing or damp gear into the tent, and air out the tent before packing it away. In cold or humid conditions, condensation can still occur if ventilation is limited.

How should I maintain the rooftop tent?

Regularly check installation hardware, roof rack hardware, latches, support poles, and zippers. Open or air out the tent after wet trips, keep fabric dry before storage, and lubricate support poles with WD-40 at least once a year.

Good quality, fast delivery, my one issue with it was my roof rack made it difficult to install and had to remove rack, attach tent to it then reinstall all of it, if u have a jeep or bronco and have a RCI roof rack I would suggest getting a new rack if you want to run a tent. Other than that fantastic tent.

Been great so far. I like the construction and quality of the materials. I like that I can move the ladder placement. The two issues I have are the tent was not cleaned well after construction leaving aluminum shavings in the tent. Even after removing the mattress and cleaning out all the visible shavings after using a few times there are more. A better air blasting and vacuuming would have been appreciated. Second, the ladder did not close properly after the first time I opened it. I know this is a pretty standard design but the tolerances aren’t correct on the tabs that allow it to collapse. I’ve given up on it being able to close and just throw it in the back of the truck now. **Update: the ladder has now collapsed on me twice while climbing into the tent. Nearly fallen off. Be careful. The last thing I need to fall off this thing in the backcountry and hurt myself. ** Overall I’m satisfied with what I got for the price knowing it’s a temporary solution for me until I upgrade my truck and get the camper I want. (Minus the ladder issue. Maybe if the company reads these they will offer to replace.)

The quality is very good and the mattress is quite nicer than competitive brands we have had. Would like to see a power source for charging your electronics, a hvac hose port and the side opening was a little tighter in comparison to get in and out of. But all in all we feel its a great tent for the price range.
