OPENROAD at the Pennsylvania Community Meetup: A Weekend to Remember

OPENROAD at the Pennsylvania Community Meetup: A Weekend to Remember
October 2–4, 2026 | Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania

Earlier this October, we joined the Pennsylvania Community Meetup at 100 Mile View Camping in Jim Thorpe, PA. It was a great weekend outdoors, with more than 60 vehicles and over 100 people coming together to camp, show off their builds, share stories, and spend time with other outdoor enthusiasts. We were happy to be part of it and wanted to share a few moments from the weekend.
A Lot of Great Builds in One Place One of the best parts of the meetup was getting to see so many different vehicle setups in person. Everyone had their own way of building a camping setup. Some had rooftop tents and awnings, while others had their own ideas for organizing gear and making camp more comfortable. We brought along our OPENROAD rooftop tent and awning setups, and it was nice to have people stop by, take a closer look, and chat with us about their outdoor plans. We always enjoy these conversations. It's one thing to show a product online, but it's another to meet people who actually spend their weekends outdoors and hear how they use their gear.
Good Conversations, Campfires, and a Little Friendly Competition The weekend wasn't just about the vehicles. There was time to hang out, talk around the campfire, check out each other's setups, and enjoy the mountain views. On Saturday, everyone got together for vehicle showcases, awards, and a raffle. We were glad to contribute a few prizes, including an OPENROAD winch, rooftop tent, and awning-related gear. It was fun to see everyone take part and celebrate the time and effort people put into their builds and campsites. A big thank-you to Hassan Dutt and everyone who helped put this meetup together. Bringing so many people together takes work, and we're grateful we got to be part of it.
Why We Enjoy Being Part of These Events At OPENROAD, we spend a lot of time talking with customers online, answering questions, and helping people find the right gear for their vehicles. Events like this give us a chance to do the same thing in person. We get to meet the people behind the setups, hear about their trips, and learn more about what they look for in their equipment. We also get to see how different people put their gear to use in the real world. These are the kinds of experiences we appreciate, and we hope to keep showing up at more community events in the future.
Thanks for Having Us! To everyone who stopped by our booth, talked with us, joined the activities, or simply shared a moment with us over the weekend — thank you. We're glad we got to meet so many people who share an interest in getting outside and making the most of their time on the road. Here are a few photos from the weekend. We hope you enjoy looking back at the meetup with us. See you out there!
